I wrote this song because in today’s world, as I see it, we tend to predetermine failure more than we realize. Whether it’s politics, healthcare, ourselves, our neighbors, …too many times, we lose sight of hope and forget what hope really is. In my research I found, some people believe that hope is just wishful thinking without merit. Others are so deep into that predetermined failure, that instead of hope, they think hope-less. Then I stumbled onto a children’s hospital website, then onto a cancer center and boom, I found it. Tremendous inspirational insights to what, why, how, when… all the in’s and outs of hope and why hope is so critically important to humanity. It’s not wishful thinking; it’s believing in yourself. It doesn’t tether with predetermined failure; it’s predetermined success. Listen to the songs lyrics and hear the voice of a terminally ill cancer patient with everything to lose, but never giving up till the last breath. Did they lose? …not at all! Hope’s Legacy is also what I’m building my brand around. It’s been my branding statement on my website from the beginning because it’s fundamentally, everything I strive for. I’ve been playing music all my life. It’s a large part of who I am and how I got this way. Believe it or not, I feel I was a pretty good musician back in the day, but I was never ready to put myself out there. Whether it was lack of the needed maturity or the simple responsibilities needed that life throws at us. So, in short, I’m living out my hope’s legacy with the hope of leaving behind some deep footprints, rooted from a simple, yet solid, principle-based foundation of hope and inspiration.
